Who I am
Dr. Rebecca Chou, DACM, LaC
Hi, I’m Rebecca, an acupuncturist and Doctor of Oriental Medicine based in Orange County, California. My journey with acupuncture began through sports. As a collegiate athlete at UCSD, I experienced my fair share of musculoskeletal injuries. Fortunately, my university offered free acupuncture for athletes, which introduced me to this medicine for the first time. What started as treatments for shin splints gradually evolved into conversations about my menstrual cycle, digestion, and sleep. I began to notice improvements in areas of my health that I had always assumed were just part of my “normal.” That experience shifted my perspective and showed me how powerful and far-reaching acupuncture can be.
Inspired by that transformation, I went on to pursue my Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at Pacific College of Health and Science. Through that journey, I not only gained a deeper understanding of Chinese medicine, but also reconnected with my culture in ways I hadn’t expected. I realized that so many of the practices I grew up with—like sipping chicken and ginger soup when coming down with a cold, drinking red date and goji berry tea before my period, or massaging a point in the hand to ease a headache—were deeply rooted in this medicine. My education helped me understand the “why” behind these traditions and how powerful food, herbs, and lifestyle can be in supporting health and balance.
Today, I see patients at Harmony Wellness Clinic in San Juan Capistrano, where my goal is to help you renew your relationship with your body and your health. Whether it’s relieving pain, supporting your cycle, improving digestion, or managing stress, I’m here to offer compassionate, individualized care that helps you feel your best. Healing isn’t one-size-fits-all, and my approach is rooted in meeting you exactly where you are.
I look forward to meeting you and learning how I can help you.
